The Ins & Outs of Lazy Man’s Yoga

Sawatdee! (hello and greetings)

Traditional Thai Yoga Body Work, also known as Thai Yoga Massage or even better, Lazy Man’s Yoga is very important part of your daily exercise routine. We are blessed to have beautiful weather in Denver, Colorado almost all year long which in turn provides our community with a playground in which to play hard and work out even harder. This in turn could mean over stressed muscles and joints.

So what does this have to do with Lazy Mans Yoga and your daily routine? In the tradition of Lazy Man’s Yoga your practitioner will take the time to warm up your major muscle groups before taking you into deeper stretches which improves the elasticity in your muscles so you are less prone to injury and improves your overall flexibility major muscle groups!

Sea of Qi Movements spends a great deal of time using “Luk Pra Kob”, Thai herbal compresses in every treatment which are heated and used during your treatment to warm & prepare muscles for stretching. When your muscles become warm and pliable your practitioner can then do very focused work to release further tension and tightness in the muscle attachments. As you bring length to your muscle groups and increase the blood flow to the muscle tissue you will be able to hike further, run longer, complete that century bike ride and finally conquer that Black Diamond!

The benefits of regular Lazy Man’s Yoga sessions are endless. Taking the time to incorporate a session into your weekly routine will only help to increase the longevity of your work hard play hard lifestyle. The Ins and Outs of a regular session will prevent injuries, increase elasticity and flexibility of your muscles and reduce your stress hence over health and wellbeing!

To Thai Yoga Massage or Not?

Well another holiday season has past and it’s possible that your favorite pair of pants is now a bit too tight once again! ‘Tis the holiday season to indulge however a few guilty pleasures can actually benefit your health, like massage and especially Thai Yoga Massage and Body Work.

Instead of feeling guilty and depressed what if you got smarter about how or what you indulged in? Between work, family and daily stress it’s really important to take a time out and do something good for ourselves. It is good to give ourselves permission to indulge! In the name of a balanced lifestyle try Thai Yoga Massage!

A recent article stated that not only do date nights, dark chocolate and red wine in moderation qualify as “good guilty pleasures” so is massage! The doctor quoted in the article stated, “Massage is a part of a healthy life style. It’s a fabulous tool for relaxation; it helps your immune system and improves mental health.” A study in the article conducted by the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine show massage reduces aggression, alleviates depression symptoms and reduces stress hormones! That says is all for me!

I challenge you to start the your New Year off right rather then putting your self down indulge in a “good guilty pleasure” like a 90 minute Thai Yoga Massage and Body Work session with Sea of Qi Movements! Come experience the benefits of not only what is listed above but the additional benefits of what Traditional Thai Body has to offer, increased range of motion in joints, relief from chronic pain, improved circulation and improved function of your over all body systems.

The evidence is clear all in favor of Thai Yoga Massage Say I, To Thai Yoga Massage!

The Meaning of Sea of Qi

Sea of Qi Movements based out of Lakewood, Colorado was named after an Acupuncture Point, Ren 6. If you know much about Traditional Chinese Medicine Ren 6 is located on the front of the body just below the belly button on the Conception Vessel Meridian also named Ren Mai, Directing Vessel or Sea of Yin. The Conception vessel runs up and down the midline on the front of the body and has many powerful Acupuncture Points according to traditional texts. The area in which Sea of Qi is located reflects where the body’s deepest energies are stored and generated. Much like our Solar Plexus Chakra. Sea of Qi is mainly used to generate Qi (Lom, Prana, AKA Energy) in the body and is indicated for use when someone is deficient of energy.

Thai’s believe that good health and freedom from pain result from the unhindered flow of vital energies,”Lom”, through the body’s tissues, much like “Qi”/Chi or “Prana”.

One of the main benefits of Thai Yoga Massage is that it can help to balance the flow of energy in the body by accessing the Sen Sib lines through acupressure. I like to think of the Sen Sib lines like rivers that run through our body full of energy and movement like blood moving through the arteries and veins. When these rivers become blocked either due to stress or trauma the energy doesn’t move as freely hence pain, tightness and stagnation builds in a joint or muscle group. During a Thai Massage session these rivers are opened up through acupressure. Like unclogging a blocked artery or removing a damn from a river it gives the body lead way to replenish its resources & allow for the free flow of energy thus pain and stress is alleviated!

Not only is Ren 6 accessed many other acupressure points are stimulated during a Thai Yoga Massage session to improve one’s over all health. So why not give Thai Yoga Massage a try and see how much better you feel once the energy in body becomes more balanced!

What have you got to loose? Tired of the chronic pain? Give it a try! Super stressed out? Give a try! Training too hard for that next Triathlon? Give it a try!!!

Thai Words and Phrases vol 1

Tricia’s Thai Yoga Massage Challenge Vol 1 -

Mai Bpen Rai roughly translates to “it doesn’t matter” & Mai Mee Bpunhaa “no problem” together is the Thai approach to life. For me this can me many things the first that comes to mind is no worries man, don’t sweat the small stuff. The opposite of how our western culture approaches things. Now I am not saying that it is a bad way to live, heck much of how I get my daily “to-do list” done is in the western frame of mind, “work hard and play hard!” I do however think we should take heed to these sayings and employ them. SO here is my challenge: choose one day this week to let things go “no worries” “no problems” try it on for size and report back to me. Now if your car breaks down or spill your coffee down your favorite shirt the one day you choose to try the experiment just say what the Thai would say…”No Problem!”

Don’t hesitate to comment. Would love to hear from all of you.
